Most leaders regret RTO

A new report found that 80% of executives admit their approach would have been more successful if they had used more data. Just 7% used feedback to guide strategy, while 59% relied on badge swipes and meeting room logs. The rushed and poorly defended approach seemingly justifies critiques of RTO as more about pride and control than productivity and collaboration.

Many made "controversial" calls based on opinion rather than worker insights. Now some cite flawed data to reprimand on attendance, stirring frustration. Relying on inaccurate aggregations rather than voices risks disengagement.

Leaders failed to measure what matters most - worker priorities and wellbeing. They sought data justification for top-down policies, not input to shape better solutions. With trust shattered, hearing employees and rebuilding culture must take priority over tracking badges. The path forward starts with listening first.
